More than fifty of his singles have reached Top 30 on the Billboard country charts, including twenty-five Number Ones. He is the recipient and nominee of multiple awards. He is also a member of the Grand Ole Opry, and he was inducted into Georgia Music Hall of Fame in 2001. In 1987 he cut his very first album on an independent record label called Americana records it was ironically titled ‘New Traditional’. The release is probably a collectors item now as it contained tracks like ‘W.Lee and the Light Crust Dough Boys’, ‘They Call Me a Playboy’, ‘Merle and George’, and ‘Just Forget It Son’. It is probably just as well that the title of the latter track did not stop him giving up for a career in the music world. His wife Denise had been on a flight in the company of Glen Campbell and asked his advice and would he take a listen to her husband’s music. The rest as they say is history insomuch that Campbell helped launch his career giving him advice and contacts and months later his first official album, ‘Here in the Real World’, was released on Arista Records in 1990 (on vinyl) and became a major hit. His second album, ‘Don’t Rock the Jukebox’, released in 1991 also let the world know that Alan Jackson had landed. That landing brought with it a change in style of country as it had veered more to the country pop sound, Jackson gave a new update to the traditional sound and with the help of fellow traditionalist George Strait poignantly took a critical swipe at the Nashville moguls with a release called ‘Murder on Music Row’. His latest album entitled ‘Freight Train’ is on track to give him more numbers ones with the first single from the album  ’It’s Just The Way I Am’ already in the charts followed on by the second single release ‘Hard Hat and a Hammer’. As you can expect from Alan Jackson, the album is pure class with great musicianship, complimented by a great selection of songs.
